Sarah's Shawl 

This easy to knit shawl is designed to fit 18" dolls. Work it in sport or worsted weight, in any fiber. The shawls shown were knit in handspun wool, mohair/wool bouclé and 100% cotton.

Sarah's Shawl

Materials: Approximately 150 yds of sport or worsted weight yarn.

Needles: #7 US or size needed to produce a soft fabric in your chosen yarn.

Gauge: Doesn't matter—this is one pattern where you don't need to knit a correct gauge!

Instructions:
Cast on 2 stitches.
Row 1: K1, YO twice, K1
Row 2: K2, P1, K1
Row 3: K1, YO, K to end of row.
Repeat Row 3 until there are 12 sts.
On next row, K1, YO, K3, K2tog, YO, K to end of row. Repeat this row until shawl is 11" long from cast on point to needle. Count the stitches. If there is an even number, work one more row.
On next row, K1, YO, K3, *K2tog, YO*. Repeat between * across, until 7 stitches remain. K to end of row.
On next row, K1, YO, K to end of row.
Repeat this row 8 times.
On next row, K1, YO, *K2tog, YO*. Repeat between * across, ending K1. Bind off in knitting, weave in ends.
