Our Web site does not enable our visitors to communicate with other visitors or to post information to be accessed by others. Please note that our Web site does include links to other personal, non-profit and commercial web sites whose policies may differ from the policies of Maggie’s Rags.

Data Collection and Purpose
We collect only the personal data that you send to us voluntarily via e-mail when subscribing to our newsletter or requesting information. We also may receive personal data from www.KnitNet.com if you submit a catalog request through their web site. We do not collect information about our visitors from other sources, such as public records or bodies, or private organizations.
Personal data collected from individuals is limited to name, address and e-mail address. These are used only to respond to your requests for our catalog or to subscribe to our newsletter. Data collected from businesses who are our customers includes name, title, address, e-mail address, URL, and financial identifier. These are used only for marketing and for subscription to our retailer newsletter. We sometimes collect name, address and e-mail information for businesses or organizations from telephone or internet directories in order to notify them of teaching tours or educational opportunities in their region.
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, we will notify you of this and offer you the means to consent to this new purpose via e-mail, mail or telephone.
Our Web site is not targeted to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Therefore, we do not take specific steps to protect the privacy of children who disclose their personal data to us.

Because all personal data is received by us via e-mail, telephone, or mail, we do not give visitors to our Web site the option of using a secure transmission method to send us their personal data. We have implemented internal security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification, unlawful destruction or accidental loss All our employees and data processors who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors' personal data. We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to government institutions and authorities except if required by law or other regulation.
You can ask us whether we are keeping personal data about you by email, mail, or telephone. Upon request, we will provide you with a readable copy of the personal data which we keep about you, within approximately a week, although we may require proof of your identity. We will provide the information without any charge. We allow you to challenge the data that we hold about you and, where appropriate, you may have the data erased, corrected, or completed. We reserve the right to refuse to provide a copy of your personal data, but will give reasons for our refusal. We do, however, allow you to challenge our decision.
